This image is from the center part of his tripict named The Garden of Earthly Delights. To the left would be an image representive of heaven and the right would have an image of purgatory. This piece shows the decadence of men on earth. Hieronymus Bosch was an early Netherlandish painter of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

Many of his works depict sin and human moral failings. Bosch used images of demons, half-human animals and machines to evoke fear and confusion to portray the evil of man. His works contain complex, highly original, imaginative, and dense use of symbolic figures and iconography, some of which was obscure even in his own time.

The concepts of these two pieces are very different yet the complexity of them is what led me to choose them for this comparison. Bosch puts many figures into his compositions

making them very busy. When you have a chance to examine the little bits and pieces you see the juxtaposition and interrelations of all the characters involved.
